Hyundai Maruti Suzuki, the largest selling car company in India, has introduced more than one car in every segment, but Maruti Suzuki does not have a single product in the electric car segment. But, just a few more days, because the wait is about to end and the first electric car in the Maruti Suzuki-Toyota partnership is about to be launched, which will be in the midsize SUV segment and it will compete directly with the best selling electric car Tata Nexon EV. Maruti Suzuki’s first electric vehicle will be a mid-size SUV, which will be bigger in size than the current Creta. The company will use made-in-India battery pack as well as local components in this car, so that its cost can be kept to a minimum. The car will be manufactured at the plant in Gujarat and there are plans to export it to other countries as well.
Maruti-Toyota YY8 Electric SUV Launch Date:
The Maruti Suzuki YY8 mid-sized SUV and its counterpart Toyota e-SUV will be global products. The new model is expected to make a global debut in Europe around October 2024. The new model will hit our market in the first half of 2025.

As we have already mentioned that it looks similar to its petrol model, it gets the same special grille design with split headlight. The Maruti YY8 electric SUV can be offered with both 2WD (two-wheel drive) and AWD (all-wheel drive) configurations. The 2WD system will be available on the entry-level variant. It will get 48 kWh battery pack and 138 bhp electric motor. According to the report, its driving range will be around 400 km under standard test conditions. The 4WD variant will get a bigger battery pack of 59kWh and two electric motors, which will generate combined power of 170bhp. According to the report, in real world conditions, this variant will get a driving range of up to 500 km.
