MG motors India has launched its most-awaited SUV car “Astor” with starting price of Rs. 9.78 lakhs (ex-showroom, India) and top model price goes upto Rs. 16.78 lakhs. However, the company will open its bookings for customers from 21st October and deliveries will commence from November. As we reported earlier about the Astor SUV will keep same exterior design from the Electric MG ZS SUV as well as Interiors with some different features. The Astor gets a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre petrol engines and First SUV as well to get Level 2 ADAS features. The Astor has been positioned below the Hector in MG’s SUV lineup. The car rivals with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster, Skoda Kushaq and the Volkswagen Taigun.

MG Astor Exterior Design

The MG Astor exterior design based on the ZS EV, however, the brand gives it some subtle changes to help it differentiate from the ZS EV. Astor will get a redesigned front with slimmer full-LED headlamps, a new hexagonal grille and chunkier bumpers. The rear will also get sharper LED tail lamps, a prominent faux skid plate and new bumpers. The car also gets a new alloy design. Apart from, Exterior includes 5 exterior colour choices, namely, Aurora Silver, Candy White, Glaze Red, Spiced Orange and Starry Black.

The Astor gets some unique elements in the cabin. Inside of the car Inside, one can find a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, 6-way electrically adjustable driver seat, panoramic sunroof, and electronic parking brake. Beside this, the Astor is available in three interior colour schemes – dual tone Sangria Red, dual tone Iconic Ivory and Tuxedo Black. However, the real highlight of the Astor’s cabin is the robot-like device that sits on the dashboard and serves as your in-car personal assistant. The Astor SUV equipped with Level 2 ADAS features that use a camera and radar for carrying out functions like Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist and so on.

MG Astor Engine

MG Astor powered by two petrol engines, The first is a 110hp, 144Nm, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine which comes mated to a five-speed manual or eight-step CVT automatic gearbox. The other engine option is a 140hp, 220Nm, 1.3-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that only gets a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
