Volkswagen has launched the long-awaited Taigun SUV in India at an introductory price of Rs 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Volkswagen India launched its long-awaited sub-4-metre SUV “Taigun” SUV in India. The midsize SUV is available in two distinct variant lines – Dynamic Line and Performance Line. The Dynamic Line includes three trim levels – Comfortline, Highline and Topline, while the Performance Line includes two trims – GT and GT Plus. The company unveiled Taigun SUV at 2020 Auto Expo. and moving ahead of its launch quickly. It could be a game-changer car with its very competitive price range. As we all know that SUV segment is dominating by Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta. However, this could be a strong answer to all of them and may change the market circumstances as well. The car gets only petrol engine with 1.5-litre, 4 cylinder unit and 1.0-litre, 3 three cylinder GT line. However, the diesel version could be launch later after the launch or analyse the market response. The company used the same TSI engine technology for the Taigun car. Volkswagen is targeting high localization of this SUV in India to come up with an aggressive price tag.

The new Volkswagen Taigun mid-sized SUV is offered with two petrol engine options – a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged. A six-speed manual gearbox is offered as standard, while a 6-speed torque convertor is available with 1.0L TSI. The 1.5L TSI EVO engine is also benefited with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

2021 Volkswagen Taigun SUV – Exterior & Interior Design:
The all-new Taigun SUV has a dominant front making it look bolder, muscular in turn giving it a sporty SUV stance. The interiors are plush with leatherette seats and a digital instrument cluster. It’s contemporary in its design and would suit the active lifestyle of an Indian consumer. At the rear of the car has a new design element, it is illuminated with a LED strip that is bordered by a glossy black trim. It runs across the whole width of the car and integrates into Volkswagen’s LED signature tail-lamps on either side. From the Inside, the Taigun SUV’ stop-spec GT Plus variant gets a 10-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the My Volkswagen connect app, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, leatherette upholstery, ambient lighting, automatic climate control, USB Type-C ports, wireless charging pad, cooled glove-box, a sunroof, cooled front seats and 17-inch alloys.
