Bajaj Chetak electric is the modern retro classic looking stylist electric scooter from Bajaj Auto lineup. Bajaj Chetak electric scooter not only marks the re-introduction of the ‘Chetak’ moniker in the country after almost 15 years but also the re-entry of the two-wheeler maker in the scooter segment. To be launched in India in January 2020, Bajaj Chetak electric scooter will be initially sold in Pune and Bengaluru from the existing Probiking network with KTM and Hasqverna. The unveil also witnessed the flag-off of the 3,000km-long ‘Chetak Electric Yatra’ that has just concluded in Pune in the presence of Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto. Bajaj also confirmed that it will begin accepting bookings for the recently unveiled Chetak e-scooter in January 2020, the price also be announced then. We will have to wait until January to know the exact pricing of the Chetak, but we do know that Bajaj will position it as a premium product. Bajaj Auto is offering the Chetak electric scooter in two variants such as the base variant is Urbane and top variant is Premium in India.

Bajaj Chetak Electric is the electric scooter which works on 4.08kW BLDC motor. The power rating of its motor is 4kW (peak) and 3.8kW (continuous) with 16Nm of peak torque. The electric scooter is equipped with the 3kWh IP67 rated lithium-ion battery pack setup. The electric scooter comes with two drive modes — Sport and Eco, which are capable of returning a range of 85km and 95km in a single full-battery charge and the range is depend on the riding conditions. The new electric scooter can accelerate to a top speed of 60 kmph. The suspension duties managed by single-sided trailing arm at the front wheel and single shock absorber at the rear end wheel. The braking duties handled by disc brake setup at the front and drum brake setup at rear with CBS (Combined Braking System) and regenerative braking system for the better handling braking duties and safe ride on the road. The Bajaj Chetak Electric scooters have 12-inch stylist multi-spoke alloy wheels fitted with tubeless tyres.
