BMW India has launched the second generation BMW M2 in India at a starting price of Rs 98 lakh (Delhi, ex-showroom). The car reaches the speed of 100 KMPH in 4.1 seconds. Its top speed is 285 KMPH.
The company has started booking the two-door high-performance sports car. The company will soon start the delivery of the car. The car has been launched in two variants in the Indian market. The Delhi ex-showroom price of the petrol automatic variant of the all-new BMW M2 is Rs 98 lakh.

The BMW M2 is imported into India as a completely built unit. Limited units of the car will be sold in India. As per media reports, some pre-specked units of the M2 have already arrived in the country and are available for delivery. However, buyers can also get the M2 customized as per their choice.
Buyers can buy the manual transmission variant by paying Rs 1 lakh more (₹99 lakh). The car is available in 5 color options – Alpine White Solid, M Zandvoort Blue Solid, Black Sapphire Metallic, M Toronto Red Metallic and M Brooklyn Gray Metallic.
Design and Dimensions
The new BMW M2 comes with an aggressive body kit similar to the 2 Series coupe models already available in the company’s international markets. The front gets BMW’s signature frameless horizontal kidney grille flanked by wide-set headlamps with inbuilt daytime running lights on either side.
Apart from this, a stylish and functional rear spoiler, a GT-style rear diffuser and quad exhaust have been given in the rear of the car. The 19-inch front and 20-inch rear BMW jet-black alloy wheels add to the sporty look of the car. In terms of dimensions, the new M2 measures 4,575mm in length, which is 219mm shorter than the M4. But, it is 114mm more than the previous generation M2.
On the inside, buyers can choose seat upholstery in Black or Cognac shades, while BMW M-Sport seats will be standard with aluminum highlights on the dashboard. Apart from this, there is also an option of carbon-fibre roof, carbon-fibre bucket seats and M driver package for the buyers.
Features and Options
The curved display has been given in the interior of the car. This includes a 14.9-inch infotainment system with the latest BMW iDrive OS8 and a 12.3-inch instrumentation cluster with M-specific graphics. Apart from this, a head-up display has also been given. The standard equipment of the car comes with the Comfort Access system. Other comfort features include powered seats with memory function, M seat belts, a Harman Kardon sound system, BMW Connected Package, wireless charging with the M Shadowline trim.
Engine Specifications:
The second generation BMW M2 is powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged, 6-cylinder in-line petrol engine, which produces 460 hp of power and 550 Nm of peak torque. This engine is tuned with 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and 6-speed manual gearbox. This engine is also available in the BMW M3 and BMW M4. BMW claims that the new M2 can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.1 seconds with the automatic gearbox and 4.3 seconds with the manual gearbox. The top speed of the car is 250 KMPH.
While fuel efficiency figures may not matter to M2 buyers, but just for information it returns a claimed mileage of 10.13 kmpl with automatic and 9.78 kmpl with manual transmission.
