Force company has been testing the 5-door Gurkha for a long time. Before the launch of the upcoming Gurkha 5-door SUV, some features have been revealed during its testing. According to reports, the front of the vehicle will get different styling, with square headlamps like the Force Cityline MUV – instead of circular units – and a two-slat grille like the 3-door Gurkha or the previous test mules.

What will be the seating layout ?

Force is trying out multiple seating layouts for the Gurkha 5-Door. Available in 5-seater, 6-seater versions and 7-seater, the standard Gurkha comes with a 3-door manual transfer case. According to reports, a rotary controller can be seen in the upcoming car instead of a manual shifter. The car is likely to miss out on front and rear diff-locks like the 3-door version.

Force Gurkha 5-door: Launch Date

The upcoming car will rival the recently launched Maruti Jimny upon launch. Talking about the launch of 5-door Gurkha, there is a possibility that 5-door Gurkha can be launched in the market this year. At present, no information has been revealed about its price. In terms of look and design, both Gurkha and Jimny are similar. Both these SUVs come in a Mercedes G-Wagon-like design.

Force Gurkha 5-door: Look and Design

The 5-door version of the Force Gurkha SUV looks similar to the 3-door version. When spotted this test mule on the outskirts of Pune, and while it looks quite similar to the ones spotted earlier, there are a few differences. Firstly, this vehicle has a different styling up front, with square headlamps that’s similar to the Force Citiline MUV, instead of the circular units available on the 3-door Gurkha and as seen on previous test mules. However, the two-slat grille is similar to what’s seen on the 3-door version.

Although the front bumper is covered on this test mule, we expect it to be similar to the Citiline as well. The ground clearance, 18-inch alloy wheel design and the presence of a snorkel are similar to what we’ve seen before.

Force Gurkha 5-door: Interior & Features

The interiors are also similar to the 3-door Force Gurkha with the dash and other elements being painted grey. It gets the same 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, manual AC and similar dash layout. Talking about the biggest change in the interior, an additional row of seating has been added to it.

The front seats remain the same, while the second row gets bench seats. At the same time, front facing captain seats have been given in the third row. This makes the 2023 Force Gurkha compliant with the new Indian norms that make it mandatory for all riders to wear seatbelts. Force Motors may offer options in second and third row seating layouts. However, more details about the SUV will be available as we get closer to its launch date.

Force Gurkha 5-door: Engine Specifications

The 2023 Force Gurkha 5-door version is expected to use the same Mercedes-sourced 2.6-litre diesel engine. This engine generates torque of 90 bhp and 250 Nm. A 5-speed manual gearbox is available with this engine. However, there may be possibilities of getting a more powerful 140 bhp engine in this SUV.

The 5-door Force Gurkha may also get a part-time manual 4X4 system. It could be offered as an option, at least with some trims. Because the closest competitors of this SUV are likely to have it too. If this happens, expect a manual diff-lock option as well.

Features like attractive dashboard, digital instrument cluster, power windows, central locking, bottle holder have been given in it.
