BMW Motorrad India finally launched the BMW R 18 cruiser bike in India. The BMW R 18 is the new marvelous looking retro powerful cruiser bike from BMW Motorrad India lineup. In terms of design the cruiser gets the bike excellent build quality, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a single-piece seat and a wide and chopped rear fender give the marvelous cruiser looking in the bike. It gets a modern retro looks, long wheelbase, low height profile, wide handlebars and chunky or chrome-finished exhausts of the bike truly stand out in the cruiser bike. The new bike equipped with BMW made biggest boxer twin BS6 satnad emission engine with electronic intake pipe fuel injection system and two chain-driven camshafts. BMW R18 comes with many advance features including the round shaped LED headlight with chrome bezel, retro modern analog instrument cluster, spoke wheels and tubeless tyres. In term of electronic package the new bike equipped with traction control, hill-hold assist, switchable automatic stability control (ASC), engine drag torque control and three riding modes Rain, Rock and Roll. The first edition variant with several cosmetic add-ons which also gets extra features such as hill-start assist, heated grips and cornering lights. BMW R18 to be available in only one attractive color option and two variant including the base variant is standard and top variant is first edition in India.
BMW R18 Specifications:
BMW R18 is powered by the all-new powerful 1802cc, 4-stroke, air and oil-cooled, twin-cylinder, BS6 Boxer engine with two chain-driven camshafts and electronic intake pipe fuel injection system that produces 91 Hp of power at 4750 rpm and 158 Nm of torque at 3000 rpm. It is the biggest boxer twin engine made by the BMW Motorrad. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission with reverse gear is available as an optional extra and a single disk dry clutch. The suspension duties managed by telescopic forks at the front and steel swinging fork with central shock strut at the rear. The braking duties handled by 300 mm twin discs brakes with 4-piston fixed calipers at the front and 300 mm single disc brake with 4-piston fixed calipers at rear with BMW Motorrad Integral dual channel Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) for the better handling braking duties and safe ride on the road.
