Vespa RED launched at Rs 87,099
Piaggio has launched the Vespa RED scooter in India at Rs 87,009(ex-showroom, Mumbai). The scooter is based on the VXL 125 and features an all-red theme.
Vespa RED will help persons suffering from HIV and AIDS by donating a fixed sum for every model sold in India.
The Vespa RED is the result of a partnership between the Italian scooter maker and RED, a charitable organisation. RED is known to partner with global iconic brands to create special RED editions with a percentage of the profits being directed to fight HIV and AIDS. RED is an organization founded by U2 frontman Bono and activist Bobby Shriver in 2006. To date, the company has raised over $465 million for Global Fund, to help over 70 million people suffering from HIV and AIDS worldwide by offering preventive measures, treatments, counseling, HIV tests and assistance services.

Engine specifications:- Vespa RED is the same as that seen powering the Vespa 125. Vespa 125 and comes with a 125cc. The Vespa RED 125 makes 10.06PS at 7500rpm and 10.6Nm at 6000rpm. This is the first step and Piaggio might think about launching a 150cc variant in the future.
This beauty with a purpose is available in red body colour, and features 12″ red alloy wheels, and red art leather seats. Other features: 220 mm front disc brake, Monocoque single piece steel body, and aircraft inspired single sided front suspension. Customers will also be offered colour coordinated exclusive (VESPA)RED merchandise including a helmet, T-shirt and hat.
