Suzuki has launched the 2018 version of the Suzuki Hayabusa in India at Rs 13.88 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). While there aren’t any mechanical updates, the ‘Busa is now available in two new paint schemes. Pearl Mira Red/Pearl Glacier White and Glass Sparkle Black. This time around the Glass Sparkle Black colour schemes gets a bit red on the fairing unlike 2017’s all-black colour scheme. Suzuki has said that it will display the Busa in both new colour schemes at the Auto Expo 2018.
Since 2016, Suzuki has been locally assembling the Hayabusa in the Indian market. As completely knocked down (CKD) models fall in a lower tax bracket, The Hayabusa makes its way to India via a CKD (Completely Knock Down) route, and is assembled at SIMPL’s factory in Gurgaon. Just because of this the Hayabusa received a price cut of Rs 2.5 lakhs.
Design and Features
Reflecting in 2009 on the initial design, the creator of the Hayabusa’s look, Suzuki’s Koji Yoshirua, The mission was to create a total new styling that will not be out of date within few years, and a styling that will be the ‘Face’ of Suzuki.” After few years, the Hayabusa has been designed with inspiration taken from the Peregrine falcon that happens to be one of the fastest flying birds. The motorcycle gained immense popularity in the country after it got featured in the Bollywood blockbuster ‘Dhoom’.

Engine
The vehicle remains mechanically unchanged. It is still powered by the same 1340cc engine, with 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that churns out 197 PS of power and 154 Nm of torque. The power-train is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Suspension is the same inverted forks up front and a mono-shock at the rear while braking duties are performed by twin discs at the front and a single disc at the rear. ABS is standard.
