Keeping in the view of policy of the Electric Vehicles of Govt of Kerala that by 2022, 10 Lakh fleets in Kerala will be electrical for the reason of its being environmental friendly, cost effective and substitute for fossil fuels. State Government Departments are encouraged to switch over to electrical Mobility from Petrol or Diesel cars in respect of vehicles taken on lease/ hire for official purpose. Electric Vehicles (EV) or e-mobility is another step forward. Kerala, known for its environmental sensitiveness, biodiversity and tourist attractions wishes to maintain its texture and ensure a sustainable development for its people. The transition to electric vehicles is a natural choice for the state in line with its development ethos. As per the FAME INDIA Scheme (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles) of Government of India and the approval of Electric Vehicle policy of Government of Kerala, ANERT is planning to introduce E Vehicles and charging stations all over Kerala. 1. Jaguar i-Pace Electric SUV
Jaguar Land Rover has launched its first all-electric performance SUV I-Pace in India through an immersive digital event open to members of the media, customers, fans and enthusiasts of the brand. In three variants, S, SE, and HSE, the electric performance SUVs are priced at INR 1.08 crore, INR 1.08 crore and INR 1.12 crore, respectively. The company claims that the I-Pace powertrain provides 294 kW and 696 Nm of usable instant torque. With built-in all-wheel drive traction, the electric SUV accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. The vehicle is fitted with a 90 kWh lithium-ion battery that delivers 400 PS from its two electric motors. The battery comes with an eight years or 160,000 km warranty. A 7.4 kW AC wall-mounted charger will be provided in addition to the standard 8 years or 160 000 km battery warranty. Additionally, customers will get a complimentary 5 years service package and 5 years Jaguar Roadside Assistance. Twenty-two retail outlets across 19 cities are equipped in terms of infrastructure, sales and after-sales support, the company said in a statement. The current Jaguar Land Rover retailer charging infrastructure extensively covers the metro cities and key urban hubs across the country.

2. Mercedes-Benz EQC Electric SUV
EQC is Mercedes-Benz’s first standalone EV model and falls under the brand’s new EQ sub-brand for electric mobility. With dimensions somewhere between a GLC and GLE, it offers mid-range space and practicality, but with a 408hp electric motor and a claimed range of up to 471km from its 80kWh battery, The EQC produces a combined output of 408hp and 765Nm of torque. It’ll do a WLTP-certified 400km on a single charge, with energy being stored in a floor-mounted 80kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Charging times vary depending on the electrical supply, with a full charge from a standard 15A (3.4kW) domestic socket taking 21 hours, or 10 hours with the 7.5kW wall-box charger provided by Mercedes. On the other hand, 50kW DC fast charger can juice up battery from 10-100% in just 90 minutes. The EQC looks unlike any other vehicle we’ve seen from the carmaker. Be with the piano black inserts at the front, signature LED lights up front, 20-inch alloys with blue detailing, or the clean rear end, the EQC looks contemporary and sophisticated.

3. Tata Nexon Electric SUV
Homegrown auto giant Tata Motors has launched the first in-house electric SUV, Tata Nexon EV is available in three variants – XM, XZ+ and XZ+ LUX variants. The electric SUV available in three colour options – signature teal blue, glacier white and moonlit silver. The vehicle gets health monitoring system which helps with remote diagnostics, vehicle health alerts and Over-The-Air (OTA) updates. The Nexon EV is based on the Impact Design 2.0 language. The electric SUV gets sporty central grille with signature tri-arrows, wide grille with signature Humanity Line running from lamp to lamp. The higher variant is available in dual tone body colour and 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. The Tata Nexon Gets a 30.2 kWh battery pack with an IP67 rating can also be charged using a DC charger that can top it up to 80 per cent battery in 1 hour. The electric motor is rated at 129 ps and 245 Nm. Tata claims 312 km on a single charge and the battery can be charged in under 8 hours with the help of a complimentary home mounted AC charger that the company will provide.

4. 2021 Tata Tigor Electric Sedan
Tata Tigor EV is the all-electric compact sedan car and second product after Nexon EV. Car is well manage to give riding range of upto 306 kmrs on a full charge. AC normal wall charger takes 10.5 hours while a 15kW DC fast charger will juice up the battery pack to 80 percent in 60-minutes. 2021 Tata Tigor is available in three trims – XE, XM and XZ+. The Tigor EV extended range variant will be available for both fleet and personal segment customers. The vehicle qualifies for a FAME II incentive for eligible commercial customers. The Tata Tigor EV is powered by a 26.0 kWh battery pack with Ziptron EV powertrain technology. Also on offer are two charging ports, one for fast charging and the other for slow AC charging. The electric motor produces 75hp of power and 170Nm of torque. The model will come equipped with ABS and dual airbags (driver airbag only f.,/;l,/or XE trim) as standard features. The standard warranty for it stands at three years or 1.25 lakh kms. In-terms of design this electric sedan looks very decent looks same as Tigore car, it gets projector headlights, ORVMs and adjustable driver seat. 5. Strom R3 Electric Car
Strom Motors had unveiled the Strom R3 entry-level electric car in 2018. The company has now started accepting bookings for the new EV. Interested buyers can pre-book the Strom R3 at a token amount of Rs 10,000. It is reportedly to be priced under Rs 5 lakh, which will make it one of the most affordable EVs in India. It uses a 48V battery system resulting in an additional 5-10 years second life for their battery packs, in applications like UPS storage and emergency backups. The claimed driving range of the Strom R3 is 200 km. It also has a 4G-connected diagnostic engine onboard, which will help owners track locations and status of charge, as well as get a complete health report of critical components like brake pads, motors, and electronics. The deliveries for this vehicle will begin by the start of 2022.

6. MG ZS Electric SUV
The 2021 MG ZS EV has been launched in India. Prices for the updated all-electric SUV starts at Rs. 20.99 lakh and go up to Rs. 24.18 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The SUV was first launched in India almost a year ago, and now the Chinese-owned British carmaker has introduced an updated model of the EV. The 2021 ZS EV has been updated with all-new HT (Hi-Tech) battery, 17-inch tyres, increased ground clearance and an eco-tree challenge app for i-Smart EV 2.0. The carmaker continues to offer the SUV in two variants – Exclusive and Excite. It is MG’s second product in India for the year 2021 after Hector facelift, which was launched in January 2021. 7. Mahindra eVerito Electric Sedan
Increasing demand for Electric vehicles, the Indian Government also supporting the customer by offering a huge big amount in terms of Subsidy up to Rs. 1.5 lacs. Mahindra was the first company to launch Electric vehicle in India and investing continuously for many years. The Mahindra & Mahindra launched first-ever electric sedan car names “eVerito”. However, first, it was available for only commercial use only, but in the present it also available for individual buyers as well. The car is based on Mahindra’s slow-selling Verito sedan that is otherwise offered with a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Like the e2o, the e-Verito runs on electricity alone. 8. Hyundai Kona Electric SUV
The Kona Electric is Hyundai’s first electric vehicle for India. The version for India features a 39kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a 136hp electric motor. Other numbers of interest include a 452km ARAI-certified range and ability to charge in 57 minutes with a DC fast charger. The Kona has been launched in a single trim and is only available at 11 Hyundai dealerships across the country. In terms of design and styling, the new Hyundai Kona Electric is largely inspired by the regular petrol/diesel version of the Kona compact SUV, except for the face which gets the signature electric vehicle face. In fact, Hyundai has added a nice pattern up front in order to mimic the cascading grille on the regular Kona SUV. Charging times vary with type of charger. A 2.8kW AC portable wall charger can juice up the battery pack to full in 19 hours while a 7.2kW AC charger, also supplied with the car, brings charging time down to 6 hours.
