1. Mahindra e2o Plus
The e2o Plus was launched on 21 October 2016 at a price ranging between INR 5.46 lakh and INR 8.46 lakh in Delhi (ex-showroom, after subsidies and incentives). It was one of the cheapest 4-door electric cars in the world, and one of the cheapest 4-door cars with an automatic gearbox (technically, it had no conventional gearbox. At the Auto Expo 2018, the manufacturer revealed a version of the e2o Plus with a different front styling and more “premium” interior, named e2o NXT, although given the lack of available photos of this version, except the ones taken at the Auto Expo or shown in promotional materials, it is possible this version never made it into production. From the inside car is very well spacious roomy, good boot space of 135-litres and comfortable. If we talk about features then this very equipped car with all safety norms such as digital instrument cluster, power steering, power window and reverse camera. Mahindra e2o Plus powered by 10.08kWh battery generating 25 hp power and 70 Nm of torque, giving riding range of riding range of 110 kilometers.

2. Strom R3 Electric Car
Storm Motors, an electric vehicle startup company, has announced the opening of pre-bookings for its new flagship product Storm R3, an all-electric personal mobility vehicle. The company will be producing a limited number of these two-seat three-wheeled electric cars in India. Having recently opened pre-bookings for the R3, Strom states that it has already gathered $1 million + in orders in just the first four days. Expect a price tag of about Rs 5 lakh, which would make the R3 the most affordable electric car in India. Founded in 2016, Strom Motors states that its ‘Made in India, Made for India’ electric car has been designed with the purpose to serve people belonging to three segments – working professionals, fleet owners and families looking for mobility within cities in a 10-km radius. Strom-R3 is ARAI certified and has filed patents for its Vehicle Control Unit (VCU). It uses a 48V battery system resulting in an additional 5-10 years second life for their battery packs, in applications like UPS storage and emergency backups. The claimed driving range of the Strom R3 is 200 km. It also has a 4G-connected diagnostic engine onboard, which will help owners track locations and status of charge, as well as get a complete health report of critical components like brake pads, motors, and electronics. The deliveries for this vehicle will begin by the start of 2022.

3. Hyundai Kona Electric SUV
The Kona Electric is Hyundai’s first electric vehicle for India. The version for India features a 39kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a 136hp electric motor. Other numbers of interest include a 452km ARAI-certified range and ability to charge in 57 minutes with a DC fast charger. The Kona has been launched in a single trim and is only available at 11 Hyundai dealerships across the country. In terms of design and styling, the new Hyundai Kona Electric is largely inspired by the regular petrol/diesel version of the Kona compact SUV, except for the face which gets the signature electric vehicle face. In fact, Hyundai has added a nice pattern up front in order to mimic the cascading grille on the regular Kona SUV. This is where even the charging port in hidden. On either side, the electric SUV features Bi-Function LED headlamps, while the LED daytime running lamps with indicators are positioned above, flanking the sleek silver slat with the Hyundai logo at the centre. On the inside, instead of going for a futuristic design Hyundai has kept things simple as the cabin is largely identical to the regular version of the Kona SUV. The SUV comes with leather seats as standard along with leather-wrapped steering wheel, soft-touch material for the dashboard, sporty metal pedals and a fully digital instrument cluster.

4. Tata Nexon Electric SUV
Homegrown auto giant Tata Motors has launched the first in-house electric SUV, the Tata Nexon EV with prices starting from Rs 13.99 Lakh for the XM variant and going up to Rs 15.99 lakh for the XZ+ Lux variant (all-prices, introductory, ex-showroom). The car is available in 3 variants and the bookings commenced a few days ahead of its launch. A fleeting glimpse of the car won’t suggest a lot of changes from its ICE sibling. However, a closer look suggests otherwise. The front grill no more serves the purpose of feeding air into the engine and is replaced by a black gloss grille panel. On either side of the new grille is a new headlight that comes with projector headlamps, and a large fog light enclosure. The lower lip beneath the grille also comes with tri-star elements that come with blue accents to speak its electric identity. Tata is also offering a dual-tone paint scheme that comes with a white coloured roof. It gets bigger wheel arches and skid plates along with a raised front that gives the SUV a rather impressive look. The Tata Nexon Gets a 30.2 kWh battery pack with an IP67 rating can also be charged using a DC charger that can top it up to 80 per cent battery in 1 hour. The electric motor is rated at 129 ps and 245 Nm. Tata claims 312 km on a single charge and the battery can be charged in under 8 hours with the help of a complimentary home mounted AC charger that the company will provide.

5. MG ZS Electric SUV
The India MG ZS EV has been launched in India. Prices for the updated all-electric SUV starts at Rs. 20.99 lakh and go up to Rs. 24.18 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The SUV was first launched in India almost a year ago, and now the Chinese-owned British carmaker has introduced an updated model of the EV. The India ZS EV has been updated with all-new HT (Hi-Tech) battery, 17-inch tyres, increased ground clearance and an eco-tree challenge app for i-Smart EV 2.0. The carmaker continues to offer the SUV in two variants – Exclusive and Excite. It is MG’s second product in India for the year India after Hector facelift, which was launched in January India. The overall design of the ZS EV has remained unchanged, and it continues to get a deep concave grille with chrome accents, London-eye projector headlamps with LED DRLs, LED tail lights, windmill inspired 17-inch diamond-cut machined alloy wheels, roof rails, rear spoiler, ORVMs with side indicators, body-coloured bumpers and more. Dimension-wise, the SUV measures 4314 mm in length, 1809 mm in width, 1620 mm in height and the wheelbase stands at 2585 mm. However, the ground clearance has been increased to 177 mm. Moreover, the company has also raised the battery placement by 205 mm.

6. Mahindra eVerito Electric Sedan
Mahindra was the first company to launch Electric vehicle in India and investing continuously for many years. The Mahindra & Mahindra launched first-ever electric sedan car names “eVerito”. However, first, it was available for only commercial use only, but in the present it also available for individual buyers as well. or the increasing demand for Electric vehicles, the Indian Government also supporting the customer by offering a huge big amount in terms of Subsidy up to Rs. 1.5 lacs. Mahindra has launched the e-Verito sedan at Rs 9.5 Lakh for the base D2 variant. The D4 and D6 variants are priced at Rs 9.75 lakh and Rs 10 lakh respectively (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). The car is based on Mahindra’s slow-selling Verito sedan that is otherwise offered with a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Like the e2o, the e-Verito runs on electricity alone. It is powered by a three-phase 72V electric motor that produces 41PS of power and 91Nm of torque. The model has a claimed range of 110km, with the top speed rated at a modest 86 kmph. At just Rs. 1.15/km, eVerito beats almost all other cars on running costs.* *The cost is calculated with these figures: 18 units of electricity consumed at Rs. 7.00/unit, at a range of 110 km. The Government too believes that an all-electric, zero emission car is tomorrow’s movement towards better mobility solutions. 7. Mercedes-Benz EQC Electric SUV
EQC is Mercedes-Benz’s first standalone EV model and falls under the brand’s new EQ sub-brand for electric mobility. With dimensions somewhere between a GLC and GLE, it offers mid-range space and practicality, but with a 408hp electric motor and a claimed range of up to 471km from its 80kWh battery, The EQC produces a combined output of 408hp and 765Nm of torque. It’ll do a WLTP-certified 400km on a single charge, with energy being stored in a floor-mounted 80kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Charging times vary depending on the electrical supply, with a full charge from a standard 15A (3.4kW) domestic socket taking 21 hours, or 10 hours with the 7.5kW wall-box charger provided by Mercedes. On the other hand, 50kW DC fast charger can juice up battery from 10-100% in just 90 minutes. As said earlier, while the Mercedes-Benz EQC new model shares its underpinnings with the GLC, it has been reworked to appeal as a completely different product. While this may give you an idea about its size, the rest is a completely different story. So much so, the EQC looks unlike any other vehicle we’ve seen from the carmaker. Be it the piano black inserts at the front, signature LED lights up front, 20-inch alloys with blue detailing, or the clean rear end, the EQC looks contemporary and sophisticated.

8. Jaguar i-Pace Electric SUV
Jaguar Land Rover has launched its first all-electric performance SUV I-Pace in India through an immersive digital event open to members of the media, customers, fans and enthusiasts of the brand. In three variants, S, SE, and HSE, the electric performance SUVs are priced at INR 1.06 crore, INR 1.08 crore and INR 1.12 crore, respectively. The company claims that the I-Pace powertrain provides 294 kW and 696 Nm of usable instant torque. With built-in all-wheel drive traction, the electric SUV accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. The vehicle is fitted with a 90 kWh lithium-ion battery that delivers 400 PS from its two electric motors. The battery comes with an eight years or 160,000 km warranty. A 7.4 kW AC wall-mounted charger will be provided in addition to the standard 8 years or 160 000 km battery warranty. Additionally, customers will get a complimentary 5 years service package and 5 years Jaguar Roadside Assistance. Jaguar Land Rover has also tied-up with Tata Power to provide office and home charging solutions to customers of I-Pace. Twenty-two retail outlets across 19 cities are equipped in terms of infrastructure, sales and after-sales support, the company said in a statement. The current Jaguar Land Rover retailer charging infrastructure extensively covers the metro cities and key urban hubs across the country.
