The new Toyota Innova Highcross Hybrid MPV was recently introduced in the Indian market as a more modern and refined alternative to the Innova Crysta. Two powertrains power the new Toyota Innova Highcross – a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol motor rated at 174 PS/205 Nm, and a 2.0-litre petrol hybrid unit that makes 186 PS power and 206 Nm torque produces. The former is available with a CVT auto gearbox as standard, while the hybrid-hybrid variant can only be had with the e-CVT.
The XUV700 is available with a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing 200 PS power and 380 Nm torque, as well as a 2.2-litre diesel motor that belts out 155 PS and 360 Nm in its lower state of tune and 185 PS and 420 Nm in the higher one. The diesel version also gets an optional all-wheel drive configuration. Meanwhile the Tata Safari is only available with a Jeep-sourced 2.0-litre diesel motor generating 170 PS power and 350 Nm torque.
