What do you think of as one of the Common Street Foods in Mumbai? We all know it is either the Pani Puri or the Vada Pav. These Vada Pavs are somewhat like what we know as burgers. It is actually the Maharashtrian Burger, which is loved by all the people across India. Maybe, this the reason why a small shop named as Jumbo King selling Vada Pavs for just Rs.5/- has established itself as one of the oldest and most famous Vada Pav outlets all over the world.

It was started in Mumbai by a couple named Dheeraj and Reeta Gupta, who had studied well. Dheeraj had done his MBA and good have got a nice job in any of the MNCs. But still, he chose to sell Vada Pavs as they were trending all over Mumbai. They wanted to be like McDonalds and the Burger King.

The reality speaks for itself as currently Jumbo King has sold more than a 100 MILLION Vada Pavs & still Counting! It takes part in the Vada Pav Celebrations every year. The quality of its food can be well-judged by the fact that R.Madhavan was the one who had their 50 Millionth Jumboking in 2009. John Abraham launched their Brown Bread Jumboking in 2006. The celebrations were also joined by Anurag Kashyap. Jumboking is the most preferred food of a busy, young country-India, especially designed for the 21st Century, that’s always on the move.

As more and more cities embrace “Vadapower”- Jumboking’s format has evolved to a crisp 200-300 sq feet at busy locations for those who don’t have time for a relaxed meal in the middle of their work or shopping or play.
