The Duke 390 is expected to launch in India by March 2013 and it will be the second KTM bike to be sold in the country after Duke 200. Duke 390 is expected to have a price tag around Rs 2 lakh, but the faired and touring version of the bike will be expensive, but below the Honda CBR500R, which is also a launch possibility in the Indian motorcycle market. The faired version of the bike will target the enthusiasts, who love stylish plus performance bikes, while the touring version of the KTM Duke 390 will offer all the qualities that one looks in an ideal touring bike, like higher tank capacity and front fairing to deflect the wind blast at higher speeds.
Duke 390 is similar to the Duke 200 but the main differentiating factor is the bigger engine. Other than the “390” sticker on the fuel tank and bright trademark KTM orange paint for the trellis frame, there is no way you can tell them apart. The sharing of vehicle parts between multiple bikes helps in reducing the cost.
