While authorities can assist in terms of cost parity for EVs, in India it’s “difficult for the government to justify subsidizing cars for the rich,” Mahindra motors said in an interview with Media sources. “We have to find technology advances faster.”

The government will have to play a significant role in developing infrastructure for EVs, he said, adding that the technology side – charging times and driving ranges – is “moving fairly rapidly already.” Under the Make In India programme, the manufacturing of e-vehicles and their associated components is expected to increase the share of manufacturing in India’s GDP to 25% by 2022. On the economic front, large-scale adoption of electric vehicles is projected to help save $60 billion on oil imports by 2030 – currently 82% of India’s oil demand is fulfilled by imports. Price of electricity as fuel could fall as low as Rs 1.1/km, helping an electric vehicle owner save up to Rs. 20,000 for every 5,000km traversed. Finally, electrification will help reduce vehicular emissions, a key contributor to air pollution which causes an average 3% GDP loss every year.

“In three to five years’ time, we will have modern electric platforms in India” and cars with internal combustion engines will start to be phased out, Said by the company officials. “2030 is what we see as a tipping point where electric will overtake ICE engines in terms of sales.” We compiled a list of Mahindra electric cars.

1. Mahindra e2o Plus Electric Hatchback

Mahindra e2o Plus is the second electric car from the company after eVerito electric sedan. The eVerito has discontinued in India due to its low battery performance as well as low power setup. Mahindra also working on its upcoming electric cars such as Mahindra eKUV100 and Mahindra XUV300 electric SUV which also coming and join the competition very soon. 2. Mahindra eVerito Electric Sedan

Mahindra was the first company to launch Electric vehicle in India and investing continuously for many years. The Mahindra & Mahindra launched first-ever electric sedan car names “eVerito”. However, first, it was available for only commercial use only, but in the present it also available for individual buyers as well. or the increasing demand for Electric vehicles, the Indian Government also supporting the customer by offering a huge big amount in terms of Subsidy up to Rs. 1.5 lacs. The Mahindra eVerito is the all-electric version of the now-discontinued Verito sedan. Available in two variants – D2 and D6 – the eVerito has an 18.55kWh battery pack that has an ARAI-rated 140km of range; real-world range, which is usually lower than the ARAI figure, has been a complaint. The weak electric motor also means the eVerito is slow and struggles to keep up with city traffic.
