Luxury car manufacturer Mercedes has launched its Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance in the Indian market. The company has launched this car at an ex-showroom price of Rs 3.30 crore. The company claims that it is the most powerful Mercedes car ever. It is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine. In India, this car will compete with a car like Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. Along with this, the key of this car will be received from the seven-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton. The biggest feature of this car is that for the first time the company has offered Pure EV mode in this car. With its help, you will be able to drive the car up to 13 km on electric power alone. In EV-only mode, this car can run at a speed of 130 kmph for 12 kms. The car looks to be heavily inspired by the technology learned from the F1. Mercedes has given an ultra-light lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 6 kWh in it. Along with this, AMG Dynamic Select driving modes have also been given in the car.
Mercedes Benz has sold 4,697 cars in India this year i.e. January to March with a growth of 17%. Last year in the same quarter, the company had sold 4,022 cars.
Look & Design
In terms of looks, the AMG GT 63 S E Performance gets a host of exterior changes as standard. The exterior will get a new front bumper, alloy wheels. On the second number, a flap is found on the bumper which has an Ethernet port. Minor changes have also been made to the frame.
The interiors of the new Mercedes AMG GT 63 SE Performance get the AMG treatment with carbon fiber sports seats and Alcantara inserts, along with AMG badging. Also, it gets AMG multi-function steering wheel with shortcut dials. Two large 12.4-inch screens have been installed in its cabin, which serves as the infotainment display and instrument cluster. The company is giving exclusive sports seats and sports design elements in its interior.

In terms of power, the AMG GT 63 S E is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine producing 639bhp power. This unit is mated to an axle-mounted electric motor at the rear producing 204bhp power, which generates a total power output of 843bhp and 1,470Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.9 seconds. At the same time, its top-speed is 316 km per hour. To make the car safer, the company has electronically limited its top speed.
