Skoda Karoq – Overview

Skoda is a well known name for their luxurious Cars in India. Skoda was planning a budget friendly car as we are reported, but now skoda confirms the launch of Karoq a crossover SUV for India coming soon. Karoq for those who eyed the Kodiaq and then turned away looking at the price tag,  The little cousin of the big Skoda, called the Karoq, is arriving soon. Let’s check the details below.

Expected that Karoq will get multiple engine options ranging from a 113 BHP 1.0 L Turbo Petrol to a 187 BHP 2.0 L Diesel. All engines come with a 6-speed manual as standard. The other transmission option on offer will be a 7-speed DSG. The Karoq will be available with an all wheel drive system as well. The Skoda Karoq in India could get a 2.0 L TDI Diesel with 148 BHP and 340 Nm on tap. Other engine options on offer include new 1.5 L TSI and 1.6 L TDI units.

Exterior

On the outside, the Karoq has borrowed much of its design cues from the larger Kodiaq. The face gets the signature moustache grille and sleek head lamps while the side profile is defined by the flared wheel arches and the forward sloping roofline. There is also a strong shoulder line that gives the vehicle its SUV profile.

Interior

On the inside, the Karoq is the first Skoda to feature a customisable digital instrument panel, three individual keys that store the driver’s preferred drive mode, lighting, infotainment and other settings, a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with gesture control, a wireless smartphone charging pad and adjustable interior ambient lighting, along with a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, a virtual pedal. It also gets a hands-free boot release system and an electronically retractable tow bar.
