Strom R3 EV – Overview
Strom Motors, a Mumbai-based startup Unveiled an all-new electric car in India – the Strom R3. With major push to electric automobiles, auto manufacturers are started working on their electric vehicles. The compact, two-door electric vehicle uses reverse trike configuration with a single wheel at the rear and two wheels up front. The car has been specifically designed for urban cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru. The new Strom R3 is offered in three variants – R3 Pure, R3 Current and R3 Bolt, and two range options – 80 km and 120 km. The Strom R3 will be priced around ₹ 3 lakh when it goes on sale later this year.
Strom R3 EV – Specifications
In terms of power, the Strom R3 will make a conservative 17.4 hp although it makes up for the deficit with 48 Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be a carried out by a single-speed planetary transmission. It is powered by a 13kW (17.4bhp) high-efficiency motor and coupled with an integrated single-speed planetary gearbox. With normal charger, the Strom R3 can be fully charged in about 6-8 hours. It also has optional fast charging to top up the battery to 80 percent in less than 2 hours. This car also uses electronic regenerative braking technology.

Exteriors
Visually, the Strom R3 comes with an edgy design, a muscular front bumper, LED lights and a two-tone paint job with a white roof, and even a sunroof. The R3 also gets 12-inch alloy wheels and outside rear-view mirrors (ORVM). Strom will offer the car in four exterior colour options – Electric Blue, Neon Blue, Red and Black.
Interiors
Inside, the cabin of the car is good for 2 adults, as it is designed for city commute. The company is offering two seat layouts – two captain seats or a single bench seat for 3. It is equipped with a range of comfort features. The Strom R3 which has been designed by a startup based out of Mumbai is not a car but a reverse layout three-wheeler that seems to draw inspiration for Briton’s Morgan garage.
