Tata Motors, the country’s leading vehicle manufacturer, has launched its much awaited car model Tata Altroz CNG. The company has launched it at an initial ex-showroom price of Rs 7.55 lakh. Tata Motors has said that the Altroz iCNG will be sold in a total of 6 variants priced between Rs 7.55 lakh to Rs 10.55 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). The CNG car comes with a standard warranty of 3 years/1 lakh kms. Let us know about it in detail.
The company introduced it with punch at Auto Expo 2023 and now the company is about to bring it first. The Altroz will be the third CNG model from Tata Motors after the Tiago and the Tigor. The most important thing about Tata Altroz CNG is that it will be the first car in the country to come with twin-cylinder technology.

Tata Altroz iCNG comes with an advanced Single ECU and gets Direct Start, which helps in saving fuel. Due to its single ECU, there is no problem in switching between petrol and CNG modes. The Altroz iCNG also gets a micro switch which helps in keeping the car switched on at the time of refueling. At the same time, thermal incident protection cuts off the CNG supply to the engine and releases the gas into the atmosphere for safety.
Tata Altroz CNG: Exterior Design
Visually, there is hardly any difference between the petrol-powered variant and the Altroz CNG, except for the addition of the ‘ICNG’ badge on the tailgate of the latter. Tata has placed two 30-litre CNG tanks under the boot floor to free up some boot space. Earlier, CNG tanks used to occupy almost all the available boot space. The Altroz CNG has a 210-litre boot, which is 135 liters less than the standard Altroz’s 345-litre boot.
On the inside too, not much has changed compared to the petrol Altroz. It gets the same 7.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, an air purifier, a wireless charger, automatic headlamps and more. However, the biggest difference is the addition of a voice-activated, single-pane sunroof on the XM+ (S), XZ+ (S) and XZ+ O (S) trims.
Tata Altroz CNG: Engine Specifications
The Altroz CNG is powered by a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine that comes with CNG technology. This engine provides 72 bhp power at 6000 rpm and 103 Nm of torque at 3300 rpm. It has a 5-speed manual gearbox. Let us tell you that both its cylinders have been kept down in the rear, which are covered with a hard plastic cover. Tata Altroz CNG gets 210 liters of boot space. The CNG version of the Altroz can claim a mileage of 26-27 km/kg, at par with the Tiago iCNG.

Tata Altroz CNG – Features
Talking about the features, new features like voice assisted electric sunroof, wireless charger and air purifier have been given in Altroz CNG. Apart from this, it has been given 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay. It has projector headlights, LED DRLs, R16 diamond cut alloy wheels, premium leather seats, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, height adjustable driver seat. It comes with 5-star safety rating.
