Talking The companies selling vehicles in the Indian market have released their sales figures. The data shows that the SUV segment has once again attracted people. The SUV segment was topped by Nexon with sales of 13,816 units in January 2022, a year-on-year growth of 67.9% against 8,225 units sold in January 2021.
Cars of Tata Motors are fast becoming popular among the people. That’s why the company’s sale is making a new record every month. In January, the company’s sales have been tremendous in almost every category, people have bought these cars fiercely. On the other hand, companies like Maruti Suzuki India, Hyundai Motors and Mahindra have been left behind in this matter.

Tata Punch Boost the Sales:-
Tata’s recently launched Punch has helped the company generate its highest ever monthly sales growth in SUV sales. Tata Punch has been popular among customers ever since its launch in India with 10,027 units sold last month.
On the other hand, Kia Seltos has managed to get the second position in the list with sales of 11,483 units last month. In comparison, Seltos sold 9,869 units in January 2021, which is 16.3% higher this time.
Hyundai Venue ranked third in sales:-
Hyundai Venue has been ranked third in the list with 11,377 units sold, a decline of 3.4% as against 11,779 units sold in January 2021.
At the same time, there has been a decline of 19.6% in the sales of Creta this year. The company has sold 9,869 units of Creta in January 2022, compared to 12,284 units in January 2021. The company’s Creta facelift is likely to go on sale in the second half of this year, while the updated Venue is also in the works.
On the other hand, Maruti Vitara Brezza stood at 6th position with sales of 9,576 units last month, a decline of 9.8% on a year-on-year basis as against 10,623 units sold in January 2021. Maruti Suzuki is soon preparing to launch the new generation of Vitara Brezza in the country. It is being speculated that it will be launched in the name of Brezza. The Kia Sonet has sold 6,904 units, a decline of 22% in the last month. In comparison, in January 2021, this figure was 8,859 units.
Mahindra Thar gets Massive Yearly Growth:-
Last month, 4,646 units of Thar were sold. It had sales of 3,152 units in January 2021, showing an impressive growth of 47.3% on a year-on-year basis. Another Mahindra car XUV300 was also included in the top 10 list and it has sold 4,550 units. However, in January 2021, 4,612 units of the XUV300 were sold, which is a decline of 1.3% on a year-on-year basis. Similarly, Mahindra XUV700 got the last position in the top 10 list and the company has sold 4,119 units of it last month.
Tata Sold Highest Cars in January 2022:-
At the beginning of the new year, where the sale of cars in the country has decreased by 16.7%. At the same time, Tata Motors has done tremendous sales in January 2022 and its total sales have increased by 27% compared to January last year. Whereas in the domestic market, the company’s sales increased by 26% to 72,485 units in December, from 57,649 units in January last year.
Not only this, Tata Motors has given tremendous performance in every category. For example, its passenger vehicle sales in January stood at 40,777 units, which is 51% more than in January 2021. On the other hand, in the case of SUV, the company sold the highest ever 28,108 units in January. At the same time, in the case of Electric Vehicle (EV), the company’s sale was the highest at 2,892 units.

As per the January 2022 sales report, Tata Nexon was the best-selling car in the SUV segment with a total of 13,816 units sold. You would love to know that since the launch of the country-made SUV Nexon, the maximum number of units sold in a month is January 2022. Kia Seltos was the best selling SUV last month after Nexon, with a total of 11,483 units sold.
