Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Wednesday launched its new Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) Toyota Innova Highcross in the Indian car market. Its ex-showroom price will start from Rs 18.30 lakh and go up to Rs 28.97 lakh. It is a self-charging strong hybrid electric vehicle (SHEV). The company unveiled it in November.

Platform and Chassis

The Innova Highcross is based on the Toyota New Global Architecture-C (TNGA-C) platform. The TNGA-C platform is a monocoque chassis which has improved the driving dynamics and ride quality of the Innova Highcross.

Hycross Will be Available in 5 Variants

The Innova Highcross has been launched in five variants G, GX, VX, ZX and ZX(O). It is offered with 7 and 8 seat configurations. The company is offering a standard warranty of 3 years or 1,00,000 kms and an optional extended warranty of 5 years or 2,20,000 kms with the Hycross. Apart from this, the company is offering a warranty of 8 years or 1,60,000 km on the hybrid battery.

What’s new in Innova Hycross ?

The current Innova Crysta lacks a few features that the new bigger MPV makes. Its a better quality dashboard, new control switches look very advanced. Also, the large 10.1-inch touchscreen is given above with the gear lever. Now this Toyota to come with ADAS features like connected car tech, dual zone climate control, front ventilated seats as well as powered tailgate with memory, paddle shifts, ottoman seats for second row, panoramic sunroof, 9 speaker audio system s first car. Along with this, many more features like automatic cruise control, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitor, auto high beam, 360 degree camera have been given.

Toyota Innova Hycross – Engine Details

The Innova Highcross gets power from a 2.0-litre Strong Hybrid engine that returns fuel efficiency of 21.1 kmpl and a range of 1097km on a full tank. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 9.5 seconds. The new TNGA 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with CVT makes 174 PS. While the 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol-hybrid engine with e-drive makes 186 ps of maximum power.

The Innova Highcross features an SUV-centric design. It gets a big new front grille, which is flanked by sleeker LED headlamps. Its front bumper looks quite aggressive and 18-inch alloy wheels have been given in it. The rear of the Highcross gets wraparound LED tail-lamps. Talking about the dimensions of the Innova Hycross, it is bigger in size than the Innova Crysta. The Innova Hycross is 20 mm longer, 20 mm wider and has a 100 mm wheelbase.

The interior of the Innova Highcross gets 2 new colors Black and Dark Chestnut.
