German car maker Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its new electric SUV, the EQS. This is the company’s flagship electric SUV which has been introduced in 7-seater option. The company will initially sell this electric SUV in the markets of Europe and America. It is believed that this is the company’s most exclusive electric SUV, which has been introduced with a very powerful battery and electric powertrain. The all-new Mercedes-Benz EQS electric SUV has been officially revealed and will now be the flagship electric car in the company’s global portfolio. The EQS electric SUV is built on Mercedes-Benz’s Dedicated Electric Vehicle Architecture (EVA) platform, which also powers the EQS and EQE sedans. The new Mercedes-Benz EQS electric SUV will compete with electric cars like BMW iX, Audi e-tron, Jaguar I-PACE.

Exterior Design: Mercedes-Benz EQS

Talking about the design of the Mercedes-Benz EQS, this SUV looks like a Mercedes-EQ. Even its styling elements remain the same. Up front, it gets a blacked-out grille, which is a closed unit with angular LED headlamps on the sides. The headlamps are fitted with a horizontal LED light bar. It gets a sloping silhouette, gets multi-spoke alloy wheels, flush door handles and an optional panoramic sunroof.

At the rear, the EQS electric SUV gets LED taillights, which are connected to an LED strip. Its length is 5,125 mm, width is 1,959 mm and height is 1,718 mm. Like the EQS sedan, it also gets a wheelbase of 3,210 mm. On the inside, the EQS SUV gets a Mercedes-Benz MBUX hyperscreen with three big displays.

Interiors: Mercedes-Benz EQS

On the inside, Mercedes has used the new MBUX hyperscreen in this SUV. This hyperscreen would combine three separate screens to form one giant screen. This screen spans the full width of the dashboard. The MBUX serves as both the screen, instrument cluster and entertainment system. It has a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 17.7-inch central infotainment unit and a 12.3-inch front passenger display. Seven passengers can sit in this electric SUV.

Engine & Battery Details:

Talking about the powertrain, the company has said that the EQS electric SUV is the second long range electric car by the company, which has a range of more than 500 km. Mercedes-Benz EQS will be made available in two trims – EQS 450 Plus and EQS 580. A 108.7 kWh lithium-ion battery has been used in both the trims. The EQS 450 Plus is the base variant, which gets an electric motor at the rear axle. This car is capable of generating 324 bhp power and 550 newton meter torque. The EQS 580 is the top variant which gets a 4-wheel drive system. Electric motor has been installed on both the axles of this model. This model offers 509 bhp power and 828 Newton meter peak torque. This car can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 4.1 seconds.
