Automobile company Lexus has introduced its fifth generation Lexus RX in India. However, the company has already unveiled its car at the Auto Expo in January 2023. The new Lexus RX has been introduced in two variants. In which RX 350h Panasonic has been introduced at a price of Rs 95.80 lakh and RX 500h at Rs 1.18 crore ex-showroom. The new luxury car can be booked online as well as through the company’s official dealerships. Next we are going to give information about the price, features and engine of this car.

The fifth generation Lexus RX rivals the existing Mercedes-Benz GLE in the market, whose diesel variants cost between Rs 90.90 lakh and Rs 1.09 crore. Although Mercedes also has a petrol powered GLE 450 model, it is not available at the moment.

Other rivals of the RX include the BMW X5, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Range Rover Velar, Jaguar F-Pace and Audi Q7.

The company has introduced its new generation Lexus RX with two audio systems. First Mark Levison and second Panasonic. On the other hand, talking about safety, it has been equipped with the latest 3.0 Driver Assistance Safety System. Apart from this, features like Direct 4 Drive Force Technology, HEV system and Powerful Turbo Hybrid are also present in it.

Look & Design

The design of the new RX matches the design of the attractive X Verve from Lexus and is seen copying the ‘spindle body’ of the new RZ electric SUV. The RX500h gets the F-Sport body kit, which gets some visual differences from the standard model. The new SUV gets a distinctive grille and LED lighting. Apart from this, the car has boomerang shaped DRL, 19-inch alloy wheels, shark-fin antenna and LED taillamps. It can be bought in 10 color options.

Interiors and Features

The RX gets a head-up display, a 14-inch touchscreen, wireless charger, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wired and a panoramic sunroof. The Lexus is offered in three interior color options, which include Black, Dark Sepia and Solis White. Along with this, it is also offering two trim options, which include sumi woodgrain and medium bamboo brown.

Dimensions

The RX measures 4,890mm in length, 1,920mm in width and 1,650mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,850mm. Compared to the previous generation, the new RX has the same length and height but is now 25 mm wider as it gets a 60 mm longer wheelbase.

2023 Lexus RX: Engine Details

In the new Lexus RX, you get the option of two powertrains. The first is the RX350h luxury, which gets a 2.5-litre petrol engine mated to a CVT. This engine generates 250hp power and 242Nm torque. It gets an all-wheel drive system that can do 0-100kph in a claimed 7.9 seconds. The top speed of this model is 200kph.

The RX500h F-Sport+ gets a 2.4-litre turbo-petrol engine which is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. This engine generates power of 371hp and torque of 460 Nm. With all-wheel drive, the RX500h model can do 0-100kph in 6.2 seconds and can reach a top speed of 210kph.

Lexus’s new RX uses a bipolar nickel-metal hydride battery, its – RX350h model has a 259.2V battery, while the RX500h has a 288V battery.
