Electric vehicles are in the early stages in the Indian automobile market and many foreign companies including India are launching their own electric cars here. Now a Chinese company BYD has launched its MPV car in this segment. BYD is a Chinese brand, and today it has introduced its first electric car in the country – BYD e6 for ₹29.6 lakh (ex-showroom). Along with this, a 7 kW charger is available as an option which costs Rs 45,000. Talking about the main specification of BYD e6, it can give a range of 520 km in a single charge and the battery given in it will be fully charged in just 35 minutes. It is a full electric MPV and will initially be available in Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Vijayawada, Kochi and Ahmedabad. The company claims that it has focused on improving the driving experience with best-in-class features. The carmaker said the newly launched MPV will not be for sale as a passenger vehicle, but will be aimed at the Indian B2B segment. BYD has been present in India since 2007. Based in Chennai, BYD has two plants in India, where it manufactures electric buses and trucks. Apart from this, the company manufactures mobile components, solar panels, battery energy storage and much more. Currently, the MPV segment in India is dominated by the Maruti Ertiga, Toyota Innova Crysta, Renault Triber and Mahindra Marazzo. It will compete with these cars in the Indian car market.

It gets LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, leather-wrapped seats, a 10.1-inch rotatable touchscreen, and a CN95 air filtration system.

Inside of the car, the e6 gets fresh interior design and make you delight with good space as well. As for the features, The BYD e6 electric MPV gets MacPherson struts at the front, multi-link rear suspension, IPB intelligent brake control system, which according to the brand is sourced from Bosch with fast response and linear braking. It includes a 10.1-inch rotatable infotainment with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, a CN95 air filter with medical-grade face mask level, which will prove to be useful for the users.

Talking about the warranty, the company has given a three-year warranty on the BYD e6 car, while the company has given an 8-year warranty on the battery, which is very special in itself. Along with this, the company has also given an 8-year warranty on the motor, which will provide convenience to the users.

Fast charging option:

The e6 supports both AC and DC fast charging. With DC fast charging, you will be able to charge the battery from 30 to 80 percent in 35 minutes.

BYD e6 Electric Car Specifications:

A 71.7 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery pack is used in the BYD e6 electric MPV. The company claims that it is capable of delivering a driving range of 520 km in WLTC cycle and on a single charge based on ARAI. Its battery is capable of producing a maximum torque of up to 180 Nm and will have a top speed of 130 kmph. The boot space of 580 liters has been given in this car.
