The country’s second largest automaker, Tata Motor India has launched the Tiago CNG with a starting price of Rs. 6.09 lakhs (ex-showroom) and goes upto Rs. 7.65 lakhs. Tata Motors has officially launched its popular hatchbatch car Tiago and sedan car Tigor with iCNG technology in India. With the addition of the Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG, Tata Motors has become the third mass-market carmaker to offer factory-fitted CNG kits on its passenger vehicles. After these two models, Tata Motors can later launch CNG models of its own vehicles as well. In the Indian market, these cars will give tough competition to CNG cars of Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. Tata Motors claims that its CNG cars come with best in class power. The company has developed it with its 1.2 liter Revotron engine. This engine generates maximum power of 73PS. Along with this, these cars also give better driving experience on hilly areas and rough roads. However, Tata is yet to reveal the claimed mileage of the Tiago and Tigor CNG.
Protects Against Accidents:-
This CNG car has been equipped with another special feature to prevent accidents. If there is any incident of thermal incident in the car, it shuts off the CNG supply to avoid cylinder burst. At the same time, the remaining gas in the tube is released into the air.
Very easy to switch to Petrol-CNG:-
The special thing is that the car does not start when the fuel lid of the car is open. Not only this, a special nozzle has been given in it, due to which refueling in the vehicle is easy and fast. Another special feature of this is that these vehicles start directly on CNG. The company’s iCNG technology makes switching between CNG and petrol easy. When the amount of CNG in operation is low, it automatically shifts to petrol. This helps the driver to travel long distances.
4-Star Safety Rating:-
Talking about the safety features, these include features like dual airbags, ABS, rear parking camera and sensors, and corner stability control. Most notably, the Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG are the only CNG cars currently on sale in the country to have a 4-star rating in the Global NCAP Safety Crash Test.
