Hyundai India is all set to launch its new SUV Hyundai Exter in India on July 10, 2023. Hyundai has so far partially shown the design of the Xeter in various teasers, and has also revealed its powertrain line-up and some of its features. The company gave this information on Monday (May 8) on social media. According to Hyundai, the EXTER will come in 6 single-tone and three dual-tone color options. The car will get a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine, tuned with a five-speed manual transmission and Smart Auto AMT gearbox. The car will also run on E-20 petrol. The Hyundai Exter will be offered in five trim options including EX, S, SX, SX(O) and SX(O) Connect.

On the higher trims, the EXTER could come with features like an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a rear-view camera, keyless entry and go, wireless charging, a cooled glovebox, power-folding mirrors and much more. The Hyundai EXTER will look like a mini Venue, featuring flat roof and Venue-like tailgate along with a roof-mounted spoiler.

In terms of dimensions, the EXTER will measure under 3.8 meters in length and have over 180mm of ground clearance and will be based on the same platform that underpins the newly launched Grand i10 Nios and the Aura sedan.

The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine can be given in Hyundai EXTER, which is given in Hyundai’s Grand i10 Nios, i20 and Aura. This engine generates 82bhp power and 113Nm peak torque. With this, a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed AMT transmission can be given in the car. The car is expected to deliver a mileage of 20.1 kmpl with this engine. Apart from, The company may also launch the EXTER SUV with a CNG variant as Hyundai is exploring alternative fuels but it should be noted that the diesel engine will not be offered with the EXTER SUV.
