Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, Mahindra, Hyundai and Audi are going to bring their new vehicles in the market before the festive season. 1. Mahindra XUV400 Electric SUV

Mahindra & Mahindra will launch the XUV400 electric SUV on 6 September 2022. This model is the electric version of Mahindra’s XUV300 sub-compact SUV. Compared to its petrol variant – Mahindra XUV300, the new Mahindra XUV400 will be longer and have more cargo space. This model is reported to be offered with a high-energy-density NMC battery sourced from LG Chem. These battery cells are said to be more powerful and provide longer range than cylindrical LFP cells.

The new electric SUV has been claimed to offer a range of over 400 km on a full charge. The design of the XUV400 will see some changes, which will give it a different look from its petrol version. In terms of features, it is likely to get features like a large touchscreen infotainment system and ADAS. Mahindra XUV400 competes with the Tata Nexon EV Max in the Indian market.

2. Hyundai Venue N Line

The sportier version of the new Hyundai Venue sub-compact SUV will be launched in India on 6 September 2022. Its name is Hyundai Venue N Line. This model comes with a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine. This engine will generate 120 bhp power and 172 Nm torque. DCT gearbox will be available with this engine. The N Line variant gets some sportier design elements than the regular model. It gets ‘N Line’ badging on the front fenders, redesigned alloy wheels and dual tip exhaust. Compared to its regular counterparts, the Venue N Line variant could be more expensive by around Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakh.

3. Maruti Grand Vitara

The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India is about to enter the mid-size SUV segment with the launch of its new car Grand Vitara. The prices of Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara are expected to be revealed in September. The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara 2022 will be the first car in its segment to come with a self-charging electric hybrid variant. Based on Suzuki’s Global C platform, the SUV will come with Smart Hybrid system with 1.5-litre K15C DualJet petrol and 1.5L TNGA petrol Intelligent Hybrid Tech powertrain options. There will be two gearboxes – a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. It will come with AllGrip AWD system that will offer 4 driving modes – Auto, Sand, Snow and Lock. Maruti Suzuki claims that it will give the highest mileage of 27.97 kmpl in its segment.

Maruti Suzuki will share the electric hybrid technology cleaner powertrain with Toyota. Toyota has also introduced the urban cruiser Haider SUV with similar technology. This car will compete with SUVs like Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, MG Aster, Tata Harrier, Urban Cruiser Highrider in its segment in the Indian market.

4. Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder

The prices of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Highrider SUV will be announced in the coming weeks. The Hyryder gets a self-charging robust hybrid electric powertrain. Interestingly, the Hyryder will share its platform, design elements, features and engine with the Maruti Vitara. Both the models are jointly developed by Suzuki and Toyota under their joint venture. According to Toyota, the SUV gives a total mileage of 24-25 kmpl. The SUV model lineup will come in four trims – E, S, G and V, powered by NeoDrive and TNGA Atkison Cycles hybrid powertrains. Buyers will have access to 6 single-tone and four dual-tone color schemes.

The higher trim will get features like 360 degree camera, panoramic sunroof, full digital instrument cluster, connected car tech, head-up display, ESP, 6 airbags, hill hold assist, tire pressure monitoring system. Toyota Urban Cruiser High Rider will compete with vehicles like Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, MG Aster, Tata Harrier, Grand Vitara.

5. New Audi Q3

Germany’s luxury car manufacturer Audi India can launch its new Audi Q3 in India in September. The bookings for the Audi Q3 have already started on the official Audi India website and through the ‘My Audi Connect’ app. The new Audi Q3 will be available in two variants – Premium Plus and Technology. Both these variants come with many features, which are included for the first time in this segment.

The new Audi Q3 is equipped with quattro all-wheel drive as standard. It is powered by a 2.0 litre TFSI engine that generates 190 hp power and 320 Nm torque, which accelerates from 0 to 100 in just 7.3 seconds.
